A part of what was once known as Manchuria has morphed into today's Jilin Province, the origin of Koreans, the bastion of China's last emperor, and the landing site of the biggest meteorite to have hit Earth. In the ancient times, Jilin was the hometown of the Manchus, the founders of one of China's most powerful dynasties, Qing (1644-1911). A general of Jilin once conquered a part of Japan and Russia, until a reversal of fortune diminished Jilin into a capital of Japan's puppet state, Manchukuo. Today, Jilin borders Russia and North Korea to the east and Inner Mongolia...
