Thailand flagTrat Province Travel Guide

/ Asia / Thailand / Trat Province / Introduction

Thailand's Trat Province is a gem-seeker's paradise. With the strings of talaat phloi (gem markets) lining many of its streets, it should be safe to assume that gem mining is its locals' main industry. However, it is little known for anything else, other than for being a popular travel base for tourists heading to the resort paradises of Ko Chang and Ko Kood found in the Gulf of Thailand. Thus, it is mostly an unknown tourist frontier, often passed by many a foreigner without much of a second thought.
