Port Barton Information

/ Asia / Philippines / Palawan / Port Barton / Information

Perched on Palawan's western coast is the idyllic Port Barton. This waterfront town has earned the reputation of being an ideal destination for families, with its long stretches of fine sand and calm, clean waters. Beautiful as it is, Port Barton only receives a trickle of visitors each time as most tourists prefer the more popular Palawan destination of El Nido.

The prime shore known as Port Barton Beach rarely experiences strong waves, which makes it a good place from where to hop onto a boat and drift away from the stress of city life. The summer months of March to May signal the many beach umbrellas and recliners to unfold on the beach and welcome the beach-goers who want to get a tan and have a few drinks. Those who wait until sundown are rewarded with the truly breathtaking sight of a tropical sunset. Nighttime is synonymous with rest (as Port Barton has no pulsating nightlife to speak of) and luckily, the town proper features quaint lodgings and good food. It is located about 4 hours drive from Puerto Princesa and hour and a half from Roxas the capital. The road leading to Port Barton is a rather bumpy dirt road, which tends to get muddy during the rainy season.
