Costa Teguise Information

/ Africa / Canary Islands / Lanzarote / Costa Teguise / Information

Unlike most towns and cities, Costa Teguise is destined to be a tourist destination. This coastal town in Lanzarote was intentionally built for tourists, which is why even before the first building was laid into the ground, the city's streets and structures were first carefully laid out in blueprint. Even the beach here, Playa de Jablillo, is manmade and specially designed to cater to tourists.

Although much of the town is still bare, the city has many seafront restaurants, ranging from conventional Spanish tapa (barbecued beef) bars to British-style pubs. There are also many water sports options being offered at Playa de Jablillo, which is now a water park popular among windsurfers and scuba divers.
