Sun in Australia is extremly dangerous, no wonder they have one of the world's highest numbers of skin cancer incidents.  Those with sensitive and fair skin, a few minutes without protection is liable to make them peel - very uncomfortable and ecchy. Use high factor sunscreen, long sleeve shirt, and stay away from the sun from 10am-16pm, when it's the strongest.
