Floating Market

Getting to Bangkok’s floating market is like a love/hate relationship. At first you’ll hate the noise, heat, pollution and traffic but as you traverse the river and “klong” market, the negative vibe will vanish as you get a glimpse of the historical and cultural treasures of the local’s daily life.

Other than the opportunity to hoard tropical fruits, flowers and other fresh produce, this is also your chance to take several snapshots of one of Thailand’s most photographed spots. The Ratchaburi, apart from Damnoen Saduak, is one of the most popular floating markets in the country, fostering an endearing image of Thailand.

It’s recommended to have a reputable tour guide who can pick you up from any of the nearby hotels in the city. The tour usually starts around 6:30 in the morning.  Admission fee is 190 Baht per person which include a trip to the Rose Garden and the Thai Village. However to those who want to see all the sights such as the Ton Khem, Hia Kui and Khun Phithak may hire a boat at the price of 300 Baht per hour.
