The main purpose of the Children's Recreation Centre in Taipei is to have a place where children can learn and have tons of fun in one place. It was built in 1934 as an amusement park and over the years, it has evolved into what we now see.

The Children's Recreation Centre is divided into three parts. The first one is called the World of Yesterday. Here, children can learn about the different tribes, folk art and historical culture of their country. It aims to give a sense of identity.

The second part of the center is known as the World of Today which is actually an amusement park complete with rides and everything.

The last part of the Children's Recreation Centre is the World of Tomorrow. It is a complete science museum which shows advancements in technology. It also has a planetarium known as the Space Theater which uses an IMAX screen.
