During the rainy season (July to September), there are frequent power cuts and blackouts in Boracay so traveling to the island during these months may not be a good idea. If you happen to book during these months, be sure to bring your own torchlight, fans and extra batteries. Check the weather conditions first before booking a trip to the island.

Sometimes, even if it's summer season, there are still black outs in the island, although usually only lasting for one to a couple of hours. Most hotels also have their own generators that can provide back-up power supply for up to a week. Be wary though that just two years ago, the island lost power for up to a month because of a supertyphoon that damaged most of the electric cables. Many tourists were stranded for weeks without electricity. Hence, you should really check the weather conditions first before booking a trip to this island.
