Snorkeling at Palau Jellyfish Lake

/ South Pacific / Palau / Palau Traveler Advice

For those looking for unique snorkeling experiences, you may want to try snorkeling at Palau Jellyfish Lake. Here, you can swim with about a thousand stingless white and orange jellyfish or "UFOs" as they call it. It's still a scientific mystery why Palau's jellyfish evolved that way and why the jellyfish can only be seen in Palau and nowhere else. Scuba diving is prohibited here so as not to threaten the jellyfish.

The lake is located 40 km off Koror, in Eil Malk Island. For more info, check out Palau Visitor's Authority at P.O. Box 256, Koror, Republic of Palau 96940, Tel: (680) 488-2793/1930, Fax: (680) 488-1453, email: pva@visit-palau.com.
