Kotilingeshwar Mahadev Temple is an early Mall temple. It dates back to the 16th century during the rule of Mahendra Malla. It is characterized by a three stage plinth which is topped by a Gumbhaj style temple. Basically, the temple looks like a square with a bell on top.

The Kotilingeshwar Mahadev Temple, found right next to the Mahavishnu Temple has been determined to be dedicated to Shiva as indicated by a bull outside the temple which faces it.
