The National Ethnographic Museum of Nepal in Kathmandu Metropolitan City offers a very informative view of the country. The museum was built in order to give a sense of nationalism and identity for future generations and at the same time, have a place where tourists can learn more about the history and culture of the people in Nepal.

There is a permanent exhibition in the Ethnographic Museum which shows the different ethnic communities in the area. At the same time, there is also a periodic exhibition which focuses on one of the eleven ethnic communities. So if you are a bit bored with shopping, seeing temples and historical sites, then maybe it's time to learn about the people behind all of them so that you can further appreciate the country.
