The Indigo Gallery was founded in the late 1980s. The goal of the gallery was to create a place in Kathmandu for the country's traditional arts.
Currently, the exhibit hosts exhibitions for a variety of artworks which include paintings, photography, sculpture and textiles. Lectures and slide shows are also done in the Indigo Gallery regarding different subjects that cover the art and the culture of the Himalayan region.
