Batu Ferringhi Information

Known as the "Foreigners' Rock," Batu Ferringhi is hemmed by Penang's tourist belt. Since the 1970's, Batu Ferringhi's has seen massive construction of hotels and condominiums along its the shoreline, offering a mesmerizing view of the sea and the massive limestone of the Kedah Peak also known as Gunung Jerai.

For years, Batu Ferringhi has been the top choice among the beachcombing crowd. It may not be Malaysia's best tropical getaway but visitors can expect action-packed water activities such as canoeing, sailing and paragliding. Aside from the ocean adventures, village tour can be arranged, providing a taste of the traditional and rural life of the locals or the chance to camp at the nearby reserved forest in Muka Head or Teluk Bahang.

When the night unfolds, a myriad number of restaurants, pubs and night markets come to life. Listening to live band performance, shopping at Pasar Malam or sipping a cool beer in the midst of the cool sea breeze can already cap a trip to Batu Ferringhi.
