The pink-sand beaches of Ovahe

/ South America / Chile / Eastern Island / Eastern Island Traveler Advice
Added: 1 month 1 week ago in Eastern Island , Chile

East of Anakena Beach is Playa de Ovahe, a secluded beach where you can feel like a castaway. The beach is known for its pinkish brown sands, rock formations, and hidden caves where you can rest, camp, or have a picnic. The beach becomes all the more dramatic during sunset.

To get there, you need to hire a car and drive through the main road of Ahu Nau Nau. All major hotels in Easter Island can arrange a car-for-hire for you. You can also ask for directions from your hotel. A small jeep or car costs 20,000 CLP (39.87 USD) for eight hours, while bigger cars fetch 25,000 CLP (49.84 USD) for an eight-hour rent.
