Taxis are shared in Yemen

Unlike in the West, car taxis or bijous in Yemen are shared. The driver will not leave until the whole car is jam-packed. If you want to be comfortable, you can pay for the whole row or for two seats. Sometimes, women traveling alone are offered two seats for the price of one, but this happens very rare. Oftentimes, women are also asked to pay for both offered seats.
